K. Kende Judit ceramics

(Iharosberény, Januar 3, 1903 - Budapest, Aprilis 3, 1979)

Attended the girls' secondary school in Győr until 1922 (her art teacher was Ágnes Valker who had learnt in Munich). Learnt in Álmos Jaschik's school in Budapest and in Hertha Bucher's workshop in Vienna, together with Margit Kovács, influenced by art deco. From 1927 she worked in her Budapest workshop. Taught for ten years upon István Gábor's recommendation in the Atelier of Dezső Orbán. She was known as a master of the wheel. Made thrown household ware and ornamental ceramics: vases, candlesticks, flower-pots, partitions. Her works display a sensitivity to from and a pastel palette. Her collection is in the Győrs Xantus János Museum.
